Whitefish Derby JHTU's Annual Whitefish Derby is a great respite from the winter doldrums in Jackson Hole. While the Snake River is closed to trout fishing during the winter, our native Rocky Mountain whitefish - known affectionately as "bugle lips" - provides an opportunity to cure the fly fishing withdrawls. JHTU provides a streamside cookout complete with beverages. Avid anglers and just plain kibitzers turn out on an often snowy February day to fish a little, swap fishing stories, and partake of the goodies. The winner of the Derby takes home the coveted Whitefish Trophy.

Spring Cleanup Day JHTU volunteers participate every year in the County's Spring Clean Up day, picking up trash along two miles of the highway through the Hoback Canyon.
Cabin Fever Cabin Fever is an evening Banquet-type event open to TU members and non-members alike. As the name suggests, this too serves as a welcome escape from a long winter of no fishing. Featured speakers take us on fishing adventures in exotic locations such as New Zealand, Belize, and yes, even Yellowstone Park. A silent auction and a few select verbal auction items help raise funds for JHTU's habitat projects.
